April 7th was the Fletcher Trophy for Ladies and Boys figures, second in the ladies was Miss Jayne Torvill and third in the men's was Mr Peter Morrisey - I wonder if they will stay on in ice skating! (the competitions were won by Peter Cole and Patricia Mollon)

May 12 was club Sunday, junior dance for the Mel Edwards trophy was won by Gary Kendall and Margaret Hawkins, the intermediate Dance for the Penny Wild trophy was won by Andrew Dale and Sandra Bevington and the Senior dance for the Jane Allan Trophy was won by Paul Harvey and Linda Poynter. Drawn partners men's winner was Paul Harvey and Sandra Bevington in the ladies

The Grenville Davis trophy was won by Robert Pike and Sarah Young (Geoff Grenville-Davis was recovering from a broken arm at the time)

The Solihull AGM was on July 7th, President was Peggy Hitchings, Vice President Ida Russell, Solihull skaters of the year were Debbie Cottrill and Peter Cole.

On September 2nd, a coach of ice dancers and spectators went to London to compete in a competition at Streatham.

September 14th, 52 NSA grade tests were held, 10 Solihull skaters passed their Prelim Ice Dance, 3 the third class and 4 the inter second class (one was Stephen Williams)...where are they all now?,  Solihull council decided to keep the rink open and is to give the rink a £100,000 face lift in 1975 - headlines in the Mail on October 14th

September 29th was club gala night, buffet, games and at the organ Roy Roughton (Karen's dad).

On October 27, the junior solo dance was held, the prelim foxtrot, in second place, Miss Wendy Perrigo.

November 1st saw a new general manager. Neil Slaughter
